Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held in Bangladesh, Romania and Switzerland between October 1 and 3 to mark the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Displayed in their venues were photos on the feats President Kim Il Sung and general secretary Kim Jong Il performed in founding and strengthening the WPK.

Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, said that the 66 year-long history of the WPK founded by Kim Il Sung is a glorious history in which it turned the DPRK into a socialist power and led the human cause of independence to a brilliant victory.

Constantin Rotaru, chairman of the Romanian Socialist Union, noted that the WPK has grown to be an invincible party thanks to the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il.

Martin Lotscher, chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, said that the reelection of Kim Jong Il as general secretary of the WPK at its conference last year provided a firm guarantee for successfully carrying forward and accomplishing generation after generation the Korean revolution which started with the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

The achievements made in the DPRK have brought hope to progressive mankind and greatly inspired them in their struggle to achieve independence, he noted.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the meeting in Switzerland.
