DPRK's Reunification Proposal Favored in Thailand
|
|
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Chanai Longoen, chairman of the Thailand-DPRK Friendship Association, issued a statement on October 4 on the 31st anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo. This proposal advanced by President Kim Il Sung is the most fair and aboveboard proposal for reunification as it correctly reflects the reality of the Korean Peninsula, the statement said, and went on: A unified government of the federal state calls for respecting the will of all parties and groups and people from all walks of life in the north and the south and bars one party from forcing its will on the other party. This will deprive the north and the south of any ground to stand in confrontation or fight each other due to their differing interests and remove the basic source of military conflict. The historic June 15 joint declaration stipulates that the north and the south recognize the commonness in the north side's low-level federation proposal and the south side's confederation proposal and shall work for reunification in this direction in the future. The present ruling forces of south Korea came out with nonsensical "unification" logic, disregarding the above-said commonness. This is, in essence, little short of a war action under the situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula where the differing ideology and system have existed in the north and the south. We extend full support and solidarity to the DPRK government and people in their struggle to reunify the country independently and peacefully according to the DFRK founding proposal. |
