Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Successes have been made in the research into pisciculture in the DPRK. They included the introduction and breeding of fishes of new species and the development of efficacious fish food and additive.

An energetic work was conducted to breed fries which grow fast and healthy while consuming less food and propagate them. As a result, Ryongjong fish has spread throughout the country.

Successes have been made in the research to make fish food locally available as evidenced by the production of profitable different kinds of assorted food and multi-additive.

Among them are ferment fish food made by use of protein-rich grass, the additive fish food produced by use of Kumgang medicinal stone, etc. They were highly estimated at the recent national public presentation of scientific and technological achievements in the field of fish farming.

The technology for breeding fish suited to the specific conditions of the country has been researched and completed.

Scientific and technological issues helpful to improving the quality of water in fish breeding grounds have been settled.
