Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- Many people have visited the Party Founding Memorial Tower standing in the center of Munsu Street in Pyongyang with the approach of the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

The memorial tower is indicative of the great feats of the WPK, which pioneered a new way for building a revolutionary party of Juche type under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

The tower consists of a body portraying the WPK emblem, a circular band covering the body and a platform reflecting the history of the Party that originated from the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

The inside surface of the band is inscribed with three large group sculptures showing the historical roots of the WPK, the might of the single-hearted unity of the leader, Party and people and the struggle of the Korean people for the independence of humankind.

Since the tower was erected in October Juche 84 (1995), millions of people, including overseas Koreans and foreigners, have visited it.
