Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- October 10 marks the anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), which guides the Korean people to always emerge victorious.

The WPK was founded by President Kim Il Sung.

From the early period of his revolutionary activities he had made preparations to found a political party to guide the Korean revolution successfully, seeking a unique way of party founding.

He formed the first party organization -- the Society for Rallying Comrades -- in Kalun in early July Juche 19 (1930) and, based on it, trained hardcore elements and built up an organization backbone for party founding.

He also laid ideological foundations for founding a revolutionary party of Juche type, ensuring the purity and ideological unity of the revolutionary ranks.

During the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, Kim Il Sung rallied broad masses under the banner of the anti-Japanese struggle, consolidating the mass foundations for party founding.

On the basis of the solid organizational and ideological foundations laid in the flames of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, he proclaimed the founding of the party in 1945.

The WPK founding was a victory of Kim Il Sung's immortal Juche idea and his independent policy of party founding based on the idea.

The WPK, under the leadership of Kim Jong Il, has developed into a powerful political organization triumphantly guiding the Korean people's struggle for defending the sovereignty of the country and accelerating socialist construction.
