Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) greeted its 66th anniversary on Monday.

Since its founding the WPK has performed great feats under the banner of Songun (military-first) politics.

President Kim Il Sung founded the party on October 10, Juche 34 (1945) and built up a government representing the will and interests of the people with the army as the pivot.

He also opened a way of establishing a socialist system by dint of military strength.

His unique line of economic construction in parallel with defence buildup is also based on the idea of attaching importance to military affairs.

The advantageous socialist society of Korean style where the popular masses are the masters of everything and all serve them is the most valuable treasure provided by Songun politics.

The army has become invincible under Kim Jong Il's Songun-based leadership and politics.

The army-people unity based on the same ideology, faith and comradeship has been put on a higher level and the political and ideological might of the revolution further strengthened.

The country has established a powerful state structure with the National Defence Commission as the mainstay and pursued a new line of economic construction with priority given to the defence industry, providing a definite guarantee for a great progress of socialist construction and the accomplishment of the Juche revolutionary cause.
