Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- China's People's Daily on October 10 carried an article titled "DPRK striving to attain strategic goal".

Under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea the Korean people are effecting a great surge in production and construction in all sectors, the article said, and went on:

The DPRK built modern chicken, duck, fish and goat farms, etc. in different parts of the country and made good progress in agricultural science and technology.

The Chollima Steel Complex built UHP electric arc furnaces and developed and introduced new fireproof materials. The Posan Iron Works introduced computer control system to the Juche iron production process and the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex built a Korean-style Juche iron furnace and is pushing forward the updating of production processes.

Many factories in the light industrial field are being rebuilt on an expansion basis.

The DPRK is also channeling efforts into urban construction.

In Pyongyang City the construction of apartment houses is underway with those in Mansudae Street as an example and catering units including Okryu Restaurant, Chongryu Restaurant and restaurants in Changgwang Street of Chain of Restaurants have been renovated.

Citizens are all out for city greening including tree planting.

Mt. Myohyang, the Kaeson Youth Park, the Taedongmun Cinema, the Central Zoo and other scenic spots and cultural facilities have been steadily spruced up.

Many art works to satisfy the need for ideological and emotional life of the people have been created.

The DPRK has not a few difficulties but is steadily advancing to attain the strategic goal under the leadership of the WPK and the government.
