Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- A gathering for peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula was held in New York on October 4 to mark the 4th anniversary of the October 4 declaration.

Koreans in the New York were present.

The "Declaration of Development of North-South Relations and Peace and Prosperity" was read out.

Then followed an appeal of All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration on the 4th anniversary of the October 4 declaration.

Speeches were made.

The speakers said that compatriots of all walks of life overseas should make efforts to achieve peace and reunification keeping in mind that they are one nation irrespective of differing ideology and ism.

Speakers in a lecture said that it is the one and only task facing the Koreans in the U.S. to put into practice the joint declaration through the great unity of the Korean nation and achieve peace and reunification on the Korean Peninsula.
