Kim Jong Il Visits New Pig Farm and Net-weaving Factory

Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il gave on-site guidance to the newly-built Taedonggang Pig Farm and Taedonggang Net-weaving Factory. He, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, was greeted on the spot by Ri Myong Su, minister of People's Security, Ri Pyong Sam, director of the Political Bureau of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, and others. The first leg of his visit was the socialist and modern Taedonggang Pig Farm built in the area of the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm. After being briefed on the farm before a big map showing its panoramic view, leader Kim Jong Il toured interior and exterior of the farm, including general control room, insemination and delivery sty and pork processing shop to learn in detail about its construction, technical equipment, breeding and caring of pigs and pork processing. Expressing great satisfaction over the fact that the builders successfully constructed the modern pig farm in a little more than one year, he highly appreciated their devoted service for prosperity of the country. It is admirable that a solid foundation was laid to raise fertility of orchard by increasing the production of organic fertilizer with excrement of pigs, he said, praising the farm for having implemented the Party's call for establishment of circle production system in pomiculture and stock-breeding which are in close relationship. He was also pleased with the fact that effective steps were taken to ensure temperature favorable for pig breeding at blocks of sties and provide good ventilation by natural means and air conditioner. He expressed pleasure over the fact that the builders of the Ministry of People's Security division of the 618 Construction Shock Brigade succeeded in research into the method of producing bricks by field heap calcination. He was considerate of a lot of achievements made by teachers and researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology to put into practice the Korean-style combined control system, and wished them success in their future work. Watching collection of works and pencil drawings the solider-builders created truthfully reflecting their worthwhile life and struggle, he said: They are a laudable picture produced by the noble spiritual world of human beings in our era who spare no sweat and zeal for prosperity of the country. At the end of the visit to the farm he again enjoyed a bird's eye view of the fruit farm. This is spectacular scenery that can be created only under the socialist system, and it is a good paradise in the era of Songun where every visitor will be eager to live, he said, repeatedly expressing his satisfaction. He set forth the tasks to be carried out by the pig farm in its operation. The next leg of his visit was the Taedonggang Net-weaving Factory built on a modern basis. He toured spinning process, large bobbin winding process, net-weaving process and other production processes of the factory to acquaint himself in detail about its construction, technical equipment and production. The factory is admirable in terms of construction and cultured practice, and it is a valuable wealth of the country as it is able to mass-produce various nets for covering orchards with less labor consumption, he said, highly appreciating the feats of its builders. He learned in detail about structure, principle of operation and capacity of apparatuses before being satisfied over their delicacy and precision. It is admirable that factory took steps to adjust diameters of nets for wide use not only in orchards but also in different fields of the national economy including fishery and weave nets of diverse colors so as to ensure light suitable to fruit growth in an effective way, he said. The factory has an important duty to produce nets urgently needed not only in pomiculture and but also different fields of the national economy, he said, advancing important tasks facing it. He expressed great expectation and belief that the officials and employees of the factory would bring about a greater surge in production in the spirit of devoted service for the people and thus make signal contribution to improving the standard of people's living. Accompanying him were Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, Kim Kyong Hui, member of the Political Bureau and department director of the C.C., the WPK, Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC, Pak To Chun and Thae Jong Su, alternate members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C, the WPK, Mun Kyong Dok, chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK who doubles as alternate member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and Ri Ryong Ha, first vice department director of the C.C., the WPK. |
