Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The Kuwaiti preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung and the Kuwait-DPRK Friendship Association jointly published a bulletin on Oct. 6 on the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

The bulletin said that the WPK which greets its 66th anniversary is demonstrating its might as a steel-strong party, invincible party in the international community, adding that this would be unthinkable without the feats of President Kim Il Sung.

The President formed the DIU with members of young vanguard, its programme served as a basis of the WPK and young revolutionaries of a new generation trained by the DIU became the backbone for founding the party, it noted.

He set forth the policy of founding the party at the historic Kalun meeting and energetically made its preparations in the crucible of the anti-Japanese struggle, thus accomplishing the historic cause of party-building without delay after the liberation of Korea, it stressed.

Praising the 66-year-long history of the WPK as a history of victory and glory in which it has led the people to bring about an epoch-making turn, it said that the WPK has demonstrated its might as a guide of the Songun cause under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
