Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The General Association of Koreans in China issued a statement titled "Let us mete out deserved punishment to the conservative group of traitors" on Tuesday.

The statement said the Seoul mayoral election slated to take place on October 26 should be an occasion of sternly judging the traitorous and unpopular policy of the present conservative ruling forces.

The "Grand National Party's" seizure of power brought serious misfortune to the south Korean people, the statement noted, and continued:

The clan of the GNP is a group of traitors who sells off everything if it will help prolong its remaining days, backed by its U.S. and Japanese masters.

Noting that grudge and wrath against the GNP are growing stronger among the south Korean people as the days go by, the statement went on:

All parties, organizations and people that aspire after independence, democracy and reunification and new politics and society should inflict a bitter defeat upon the GNP in the coming election.

The General Association of Koreans in China and all Koreans in China fully support the anti-GNP struggle of the people from all walks of life in south Korea and will join them in the struggle for ousting the group of traitors from power.

A spokesperson for the Zhongnan Regional Association of the General Association of Koreans in China in a statement issued on October 5 called for inflicting a bitter defeat upon the south Korean group of traitors to the nation.
