Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- The permanent representative of Cuba to the UN, speaking at a session of the General Assembly on Africa's development on Oct. 11, condemned the West for its exploit to African countries and interference in their internal affairs.

The representative denounced the unreasonable policies pursued by the West that force many countries in Africa to spend more resources on external debt payments than on health and education programs, calling for an immediate end to military interventions aimed at ensuring control of mineral resources in Africa.

Cuba will continue to support the AU and all regional coordination mechanisms, in an effort to find their own solutions to African problems, said the representative.
