Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- It is the trend of the present era that the world people desire independence and many countries advance towards independence, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a by-lined article.

The world independence can be achieved in the course in which independence of an individual country is ensured and expanded worldwide, the article says, adding:

To build a new independent world, it is necessary for all the countries calling for independence to firmly adhere to it in their state activities. It is important for them to shape and implement polices which are suited to their specific conditions and which meet the wishes and interests of their peoples.

It is not without reason that some countries undergo ups and downs as they fail to maintain political independence in international relations and abandon principles, obsessed by illusions about imperialists and developed countries.

It is essential to fully exercise their sovereignty in foreign relations.

All the countries and nations should develop the friendly and cooperative relations on the principle of equality and mutual respect. They should neither violate others' sovereignty nor allow others to infringe their own sovereignty.

In order to put an end to domination and subjugation in the world it is necessary to completely terminate the old international order and all sorts of domination.

In order to build a new independent world, it is necessary for all the independent forces to hold fast to the principled stand against imperialism and direct the spearhead of attack to it.

The world progressive people should strengthen friendship and unity.
