Pyongyang, October 15 (KCNA) -- All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should turn out to implement north-south declarations which paved a wide avenue for independent reunification, peace and prosperity, regarding them as the banner of patriotism, says Rodong Sinmun Saturday in a bylined article.

The June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are declarations of national independence, reconciliation, cooperation and peaceful reunification the basic spirit of which is "By our nation itself", the article says, and goes on:

No reunification guidelines can replace the said declarations in the nation's struggle to improve the north-south relations and achieve the country's reunification.

It is essential requirements reflecting the nation's desire and wish to respect and implement the declarations.

Independent reunification, peace and prosperity are vital requirements of the nation and its unanimous desire.

It is important to resume and actively promote all the activities for the implementation of the north-south declarations and develop them into nationwide movement. North-south declarations specify practical ways for the country's reunification and prosperity common to the nation.

There is no doubt that the path of peace, prosperity and reunification will surely open before the nation when it hold fasts to and implement the north-south declarations.

Resolutely foiling even the slightest move to deny and check the implementation of the declarations precisely means respecting and implementing them.

Stand and attitude to the north-south declarations are a touchstone distinguishing patriotism from treachery and reunification from division.
