Anniversary of WPK Observed in Finland

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- A joint seminar and a Korean book and photo exhibition took place in Helsinki, Finland, on the occasion of the 66th birthday of the Workers' Party of Korea. On display in the venue of the exhibition were works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, photos showing the Songun leadership exploits and books and pictures introducing the endeavors of the army and people of the DPRK for socialist construction. A report was made to be followed by speeches at the seminar. The chairperson of the Finnish National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea said in a report that Kim Il Sung, the founder of the immortal Juche idea and eternal President of the DPRK, founded the WPK on Oct. 10, 1945. He went on: The WPK's founding marked an event of vital significance for the Korean people's destiny and the development of socialist Korea. The WPK is the most powerful party which has advanced along the road of victory as the guiding force of the Korean people. We are convinced that the Korean people will accomplish their socialist cause and achieve the country's independent and peaceful reunification. The chairperson of the Communist Workers' Party of Finland for the Peace and Socialism in a speech said that General Secretary of the WPK Kim Jong Il formulated the President's revolutionary idea as Kimilsungism through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities and has led to victory the Korean people in their efforts to build a thriving nation with his original Songun politics. The chairperson of the Finnish Communists' League expressed the will to extend invariable support and solidarity to the WPK and the Korean people's just cause led by Kim Jong Il. A message of greetings to Kim Jong Il was adopted at the seminar. |
