Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) --The Oct. 10th issue of the Cuban newspaper Granma carried an article titled "The Workers' Party of Korea like compass."

Today the WPK greets the 66th anniversary of its founding, it said, and went on:

The WPK has demonstrated the might of unity and cohesion, directed big efforts to improving the standard of people's living and bolstered military muscle to cope with provocations and aggressions by enemies including the U.S. under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

It aroused the Party members and other working people to the socio-economic development, making signal successes in light industry and agriculture and improving the standard of people's living in recent years.

The housing construction of great significance in improving the standard of people's living is now making brisk headway in the capital city of Pyongyang.

It is boosting solidarity and cooperation with progressive political parties of different countries.
