Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- Events took place on October 6 and 7 at the DPRK missions in Nakhodka of Russia, Cuba, Guinea and Poland to mark the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

They included receptions, meetings, book and photo exhibitions and film shows.

On display in their venues were works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and photos on their undying feats and books and photos introducing the course of victory and glory covered by the WPK.

Korean films shown included "The Party Founding Memorial Tower", "The Country Shining with Arms of Mt. Paektu" and "Reply of Korea".

The speaker of the Vladivostok City Assembly of Russia said all the eye-opening successes made in the DPRK are unthinkable without wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The political and economic crises in many countries clearly prove that only the independent politics pursued by Kim Jong Il is a reliable guarantee for national security and independent development, he stressed.

Under the independent politics, the Songun politics of Kim Jong Il the DPRK will surely open the gate to prosperity, successfully overcoming manifold hardships, he said.

The deputy secretary of the Political Council of the Maritime Territorial Branch of the "United Russia" Party praised the seasoned leadership of the WPK as a model for the world's revolutionary parties to follow in their activities and construction.

The general secretary of the Guinean People's Assembly said that the WPK founded by Kim Il Sung on October 10, 1945 is achieving world-startling successes in socialist construction day by day under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
