Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Mexican Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea released the 83rd issue of its bulletin.

The bulletin carried an article titled "Adopting it as strategic line to give importance to science and technology" with a photo of leader Kim Jong Il visiting the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex.

Attaching importance to science and technology is a strategic line maintained by the Workers' Party of Korea in socialist construction, the bulletin said.

This has been proven by the history of recent ten odd years in socialist Korea, it said, adding that Kim Jong Il defined it as one of the three pillars for socialist construction to attach importance to science and technology as well as to ideology and military affairs and has led scientists and technicians.

The bulletin noted that the trait of giving importance to science and technology has been established and many scientific and technological achievements made in the DPRK under his wise leadership.

What draws special attention in the scientific and technological gains by scientists and technicians of the DPRK is that they have taken unchallenged world supremacy in CNC technology, it said.

It is the WPK's idea of pushing back the frontiers of latest science and technology that basing itself on the experience won in CNC technology the DPRK should excel the world in the scientific and technological level in all fields in the shortest period to lead the era of knowledge-based economy, it stressed.

The bulletin said that the leadership of the WPK regarding it as a strategic line to give importance to science and technology would bring brilliant reality of prosperity in the near future.
