Thai Newspaper on Construction in Pyongyang

Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The Thai newspaper Bangkok Post on October 12 introduced the dynamic drive going on in the DPRK to spruce up its capital city of Pyongyang with the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung as an occasion. It said: Construction of houses in the city is making rapid progress. Many dwelling houses will be completely built before April next year marking the centenary of birth of Kim Il Sung. Skyscraping and high-rise apartment houses are rising up with each passing day in the Mansudae area construction site. As well, building of theatres and service networks is progressing. Under construction in the area of East Pyongyang are public health complex for such service as bath, haircutting and beauty culture and outdoor ice-rink. An afforestation drive is also going on a wide scale. The paper carried a photo showing the Tower of the Juche Idea and the area of East Pyongyang. |
