Pyongyang, October 17 (KCNA) -- The German branch of the Korean Friendship Association made public a statement on Oct. 8 on the 31st anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK).

The statement said the proposal set forth by President Kim Il Sung is a fair and aboveboard and reasonable one for the reunification of Korea.

The federal formula is the most realistic way for Korea's reunification as it can defuse confrontation and terminate the division under the present situation where the north-south relations are deteriorating, the statement noted.

It called upon the international community to fully support the struggle of the Korean people to achieve the reunification of the country by federal formula.
