Beijing, October 16 (KCNA) -- Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, visited China from October 11 to 15.

During the visit he had talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao who is general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and separately had conversations with Wen Jiabao, premier of the State Council who is member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the CPC, and Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the CPC.

The talks and conversations exchanged views on developing the strategic and cooperative relations between the two parties and the countries onto a new higher level and issues of mutual concern.

During his stay in China General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong toured Guangdong Province.

Documents on bilateral cooperation were signed during the visit.
