Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- The Guinean National Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea released a special issue of its bulletin on October 8 to mark the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

The bulletin tilted "The Workers' Party of Korea taking root on the DIU" carried a portrait of smiling President Kim Il Sung and an article, which said:

The formation of the DIU by the President is of specially weighty significance in the modern history of Korea.

The WPK took its historic root on the DIU.

The programme and principle of independence of the DIU became fundamental basis for the platform of the WPK founded in 1945 and the steadfast guidelines of its activity.

The WPK was founded with vanguard fighters of new generation trained by the DIU, ardent revolutionaries who held Kim Il Sung as the sun of the nation and the center of cohesion and unity at the dawn of the Korean revolution, as its backbone.

Today the WPK has millions of members armed with the same steadfast spirit of devotedly defending the leader and spirit of independence against imperialism as were cherished by those fighters.

This provides major guarantee for the WPK to always emerge victorious.

The WPK is creditably inheriting the valuable traditions under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
