Anniversaries of WPK and DIU Marked in Foreign Countries

Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- Celebration meetings took place in South Africa, Uganda, the Czech Republic and Iceland from Oct. 6 to 8 on the 66th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU). The secretary of the Mfumalanga Provincial Committee of the South African Communist Party said President Kim Il Sung made full preparations for the party building during the anti-Japanese struggle and on its basis declared the foundation of the WPK immediately after the country's liberation. The secretary general of the African Regional Committee of Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People noted thanks to leader Kim Jong Il the WPK achieved the single-minded unity of the party and society which can not be found in any other country and made big successes in accomplishing socialism. The executive secretary of the Central Committee of the Czech, Moravian, Silesian Trade Unions' Association of the Czech Republic said that the WPK, regarding the Juche idea founded by Kim Il Sung as invariable guidelines, has successfully applied it to the revolution and construction. The general secretary of the Iceland-DPRK Friendship and Cultural Society expressed the belief that the Korean people would surely attain the goal of building a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of the WPK led by Kim Jong Il. Messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the meetings in South Africa and the Czech Republic. |
