Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- Events were held in different countries between October 4 and 8 to mark the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

They included lectures in Belarus, South Africa and Indonesia and seminars, book and photo exhibitions and film shows in Italy, Pakistan and Mongolia.

On display in their venues were famous works of President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il, photos on their immortal exploits and books and photos introducing the achievements made by the Korean people in socialist construction.

Korean films shown included "The Tower of the Juche Idea".

The chairman of the Belorussian February 16 Youth Association for the Study of the Juche Idea and the Songun Politics said that General Secretary Kim Jong Il modeled the WPK on the Juche idea to provide the ideological purity of the Party.

The chairman of the Group for the Study of the Progressive Ideas of South Africa noted that the progressive political parties and peoples of the world have praised the WPK guided by the Juche idea as the beacon for the human cause of independence.

The general secretary of the Unified Communist Party of Italy said in his report at a seminar that the WPK guided by the Juche idea has solved everything in socialist construction in conformity with the specific conditions of the country in reliance on the strength of its people, always maintaining the line of independence in politics, self-support in economy and self-reliance in national defence.

The chairman of the Mongolian Centre for the Study of Juche and other speakers praised the immortal feats performed by Kim Il Sung in party building and the validity and invincible might of the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il.

Messages of greetings to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the seminars in Pakistan and Mongolia.
