Beijing, October 20 (KCNA) -- Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau and member the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and head of its Publicity Department, met and had a friendly talk with the visiting delegation of the Korean Central News Agency headed by Director General Kim Pyong Ho at the Great Hall of the People here on Thursday.

Present there were officials of the Xinhua News Agency including its President Li Congjun and DPRK Ambassador to China Ji Jae Ryong.

Liu Yunshan said that he could not forget the day when he was received by General Secretary Kim Jong Il during his visit to the DPRK. He asked the head of the KCNA delegation to convey his best wishes to Kim Jong Il.

Sino-DPRK friendly relationship forged in blood is special one, he said, adding the Chinese party and government attach great importance to the development of the friendly relations with the DPRK.

It is very important to enhance the roles of the news agencies in boosting the bilateral friendship, he said.

Xinhua News Agency will continue to play an important role in giving publicity to the true picture of the DPRK making progress full of vitality, he added.

He referred to the resolution on boosting China's cultural system reform and socialist cultural development, adopted at the Sixth Plenary Session of the 17th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He briefed on the necessity and purpose of the reform of cultural system and the ways for doing so.

He hoped that the Korean people would achieve bigger successes in socialist construction, standing ordeals in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude under the leadership of Kim Jong Il.
