Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- Events took place in Democratic Congo, Bangladesh, Norway, Peru, South Africa, Nigeria, Guinea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Myanmar and India and those were held by the Pan-African Movement Secretariat and the FIFA Regional Development Office from Oct. 6 to 14 on the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

Gaspar Kabongo, deputy secretary of the National Executive Committee of the People's Party for the Reconstruction and the Democracy of Democratic Congo, said that it is thanks to the Songun politics pursued by General Secretary Kim Jong Il that the WPK has won victory after victory in the face of fierce confrontation with imperialism.

Rashed Khan Menon, chairman of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Bangladesh, Hasanul Huq Inu, chairman of the Central Executive Committee of the Bangladesh National Socialist Party, Garib Newaz, president of the Bangladesh People's League, and other speakers at events said that the history of the WPK is a glorious one of its wise leadership over the cause of independence of the popular masses despite all ordeals.

Genaro Ledesma Izquieta, chairman of the People's Front of Workers, Peasants and Students of Peru, Alberto Moreno, general secretary of the C.C., the Communist Party of Peru (Red Motherland), and Felix Fernandes Torres, secretary general of the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea, highly praised the undying exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in building and developing the WPK.

The chairman of the Bangladesh Institute of the Juche Idea said the programme of the DIU became the foundation of the programme of the WPK and its principle of independence guidelines for the building of the WPK and its activities.

The Korean people under the guidance of the WPK, successor to the tradition of the DIU, will emerge victorious in the future, too, he stressed.

An officer of the FIFA Regional Development Office said that whenever he visited the DPRK he could witness the fact that the Korean people achieved big progress under the party's leadership. The single-minded unity of the Korean people has been a factor of winning steady victories despite all difficulties, he added.

Messages to Kim Jong Il were adopted at the events in Norway and South Africa.
