Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The British Association for the Study of Songun Policy and the Group for the Study of the Juche Idea made public a joint statement on Oct. 15 on the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

The statement said President Kim Il Sung formed the DIU 85 years ago, making it possible for the Korean revolution to greet a period of a new historic turn.

The formation of the DIU, the first organization of young vanguard fighters in Korea, was an epoch-making event in the struggle for building a revolutionary party of working class after breaking with the past communist movement ridden with factionalism and flunkeyism, the statement said, and went on:

The DIU programme is being successfully implemented by the Workers' Party of Korea and now the WPK is firmly adhering to the guidelines of independence based on the Juche idea under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.

The WPK deeply rooted among the popular masses, achieved unbreakable unity and cohesion and is now working hard for global independence.
