Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- The Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea hosted a banquet in honor of officials, labor innovators, scientists and technicians from South Hamgyong Province at the People's Palace of Culture on Friday.

Present there together with them were Kim Ki Nam and Choe Thae Bok, members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, Pak To Chun and Thae Jong Su, alternate members of the Political Bureau and secretaries of the C.C., the WPK, and other officials of the C.C., the WPK.

Choe Thae Bok said at the banquet that General Secretary Kim Jong Il showed such warm benevolence that innovators in South Hamgyong Province could tour different places and enjoy art performances and provided this banquet for them.

Kim Jong Il led them to work in a big and broad way while continuing ceaseless journey of on-the-spot guidance and turned the credit for all the achievements to them, the speaker noted, adding:

Those from South Hamgyong Province should cherish Kim Jong Il's trust and love and creditably carry out the tasks given by him, sharing the idea, intention, feeling and fortune with him.

All of them should become forerunners in the sacred drive to improve the standard of people's living and open the gate to a thriving nation and thus live up to his deep trust.

An art performance was given at the banquet by the Samjiyon Band of the Mansudae Art Troupe.
