Probe into Truth behind Irregularities Urged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea in a commentary on Wednesday hit at the irregularities of Ra Kyong Won, a lawmaker from the "Grand National Party" who declared his candidacy for Seoul mayor.

Ra admitted that he had received huge bribes under the pretext of political support fund from teachers of various schools which are in his father's possession and where he is active as a director.

Recalling this fact, the commentary said:

He has claimed that the prescription of accusation expired since such bribery happened in early days when he was elected as a lawmaker.

But, there is suspicion that he committed similar crimes later.

When taking into account the features of a private school whose right of personnel management belongs to the chief of its Board, nobody thinks that such bribery was voluntarily done by teachers.

The prosecution has dismissed every case of the GNP group which took political support fund from teachers. But, this time it should make prompt and clear investigation, mindful that the people would never pardon it if it glosses over Ra's crimes.

The commentary urged Ra to lay bare the truth behind his wrongdoings.
