Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Mexican newspaper and Cambodian radio observed the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

The Mexican paper Unidad Nacional on Oct. 15 ran an article titled "85th Anniversary of DIU", which said that the Korean revolution which started with the DIU under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung has dynamically advanced along the road of independence, Songun and unity over the past 85 years.

Independence is the main principle and stand of the Korean revolution set forth by the DIU, the paper said, and went on:

Kim Il Sung strictly adhered to the idea and principle of independence in the whole course of leading the Korean revolution.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il has led the WPK to conduct its activities in an independent and creative way with the Juche idea as its guideline by creditably carrying forward the cause of Kim Il Sung, thus making the Korean people always win victories in accomplishing the socialist cause.

Songun is the invariable banner of the Korean revolution that most thoroughly embodied the DIU's idea of anti-imperialist struggle.

Kim Jong Il has pursued the Songun politics by successfully inheriting the Songun idea and line of Kim Il Sung.

This politics is a sure guarantee helping the DPRK win victory despite all difficulties century after century.

Unity is the mainstay of the Korean revolution. The DIU regarded it as philosophy of invincibility.

Victory and glory are always in store for socialist Korea, dignified with independence, powerful with Songun policy and invincible with single-minded unity.

The paper also ran a photo of the Party Founding Memorial Tower.

The Cambodian Apsara TV and Sound Broadcasting on Oct. 15 stressed that the Korean revolution would continue to emerge victorious under the guidance of the WPK which inherited the tradition of DIU.
