Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and vice-premier of the State Council of China, made public a written address on his arrival in Pyongyang at the airport on Sunday. The Korean people have made laudable achievements in socialist revolution and construction in the spirit of self-reliance and strenuous efforts under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il, he said, adding that he was very pleased with this. He continued: It is the invariable policy of the Chinese party and government to constantly develop the traditional friendly relations with the DPRK. We hope that our exchange and cooperation with the DPRK side will be constantly deepened in all sectors, thus bringing greater happiness to the two peoples. The Chinese side praises the DPRK side for taking such active actions in various aspects as improving its relations with south Korea and the United States and giving impetus to the resumption of the six-party talks. And it will continue to play its constructive role and make a positive contribution to promoting the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and defending peace, stability and development of this region together with all parties concerned. I will make candid and in-depth exchanges of views over the matters of mutual concern with senior officials of the party and state of the DPRK. I believe this visit will provide an opportunity for further strengthening the traditional friendship between the two parties, governments and peoples, boosting bilateral exchange and cooperation in all fields and encouraging the development of the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. |
