Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- Ancon County, Lima Province in Peru presented the title of honorary citizenship and key of the county to President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk on the 66th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 85th anniversary of the formation of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

A ceremony of conveying the decision on registering the three commanders of Mt. Paektu as honorary citizens and presenting the key of the county took place at the Ancon County Office building on Oct. 17.

Pedro John Barrera, governor of Ancon County, said at the ceremony that the Korean people built the country centered on the popular masses, holding aloft the banner of the Juche idea under the leadership of the great leaders and the great party.

Noting that the DPRK serves as a beacon for the world people desirous of independence, he went on:

The Ancon County Office decided to register the three commanders of Mt. Paektu of Korea as honorary citizens and present the key of the county to them in recognition of their immortal exploits performed for the human cause of independence

Then the decision and key of the county were conveyed to the DPRK ambassador to Peru.

Present there were Luis Cuadros, organizational secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party of Peru; Estuardo Martinez Perez, curator of the Pyongyang Cultural Center in Peru; Felix Fernandes Torres, secretary general of the Peruvian Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea; and other political and public personages and masses.
