Wreaths Laid at Friendship Tower

Pyongyang, October 24 (KCNA) -- Li Keqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the C.C., Communist Party of China and vice-premier of the State Council of China, on an official goodwill visit to the DPRK laid a wreath at the Friendship Tower on Monday on the 61st anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front. Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were You Quan, deputy secretary-general of the State Council, Zhang Zhijun, executive vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Chen Yuan, managing director of the China Development Bank, Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, Liu Jieyi, deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the C.C., CPC, Liu Tienan, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Committee, Chen Jian, vice-minister of Commerce, Ning Jizhe, deputy director of the Policy Research Office of the State Council, and other suite members and staff members of the Chinese embassy here, Chinese guests staying in the DPRK, Chinese students and Chinese residents in the DPRK. Also on hand were Yang Hyong Sop, member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Choe Chang Sik, minister of Public Health who doubles as chairman of the C.C., the DPRK-China Friendship Association, Kim Song Nam, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK, Kim Chol, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Kim Po Gyong, vice-minister of People's Security, Kim Song Gi, vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Ku Pon Thae, vice-minister of Foreign Trade, Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and officials concerned. A wreath in the name of Li Keqiang was laid before the tower. Wreaths in the name of the Chinese embassy here and the Central Committee of the Association of Chinese Residents in Korea were also placed. The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of the fallen CPV fighters and looked round the tower. Li Keqiang made an entry in the visitor's book. |
