Pyongyang, October 26 (KCNA) -- Many factories have been built in the DPRK to contribute to improving the people's living standard.

A pig farm, net-weaving factory and terrapin farm named after Taedonggang started operation some time ago.

The large pig farm has insemination, delivery and meat processing facilities.

All its production processes are controlled by computer.

The farm produces a large quantity of organic fertilizer for the Taedonggang Combined Fruit Farm, forming a ring-shaped cyclic production system between the fruit and pig producers.

The terrapin farm has neatly-built ponds teemed with terrapins to be used as material for tonics.

It takes four or five years for terrapin to grow up in natural conditions, but it takes only one year for the farm to raise it up to more than 500 grams on the basis of a new breeding technology.

The farm also raises tropical goldfish and bullfrog.

The net-weaving factory, equipped with modern production processes, turns out various kinds of net needed for different economic sectors, including fruit farming and fishing industry.
