Program Contest and Exhibition Open

Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- The 22nd national program contest and exhibition were opened in the DPRK with due ceremony at the Three-Revolution Exhibition Thursday.

Presented to the contest and exhibition are more than 1,500 application programs for Korean-style computer operation system developed by scientists, technicians and youth and students across the country.

The programs are on display divided into 16 panels including operating system and security, artificial intelligence and image processing.

Among them are achievements the industrial establishments, ministries and national institutions have made in the course of raising the IT level of their units with their own efforts. Also there are programs presented by Three-Revolution team members and students of computer talents training centers across the country.

During the contest and exhibition there will be contests of English-Korean translating program, program for computer simulation practice and other programs and exchange of information technology and service of programs.

Present at the opening ceremony were Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Choe Hui Jong, department director of the C.C. WPK, Kim Yong Jin, chairman of the Education Commission, Jang Chol, president of the State Academy of Sciences, officials concerned and programmers.

Ri Ja Bang, chairman of the State Science and Technology Commission, addressed the ceremony.

At the end of the ceremony the participants looked round the exhibition hall.
