Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- A cultural event on the day of Germany took place in Pyongyang on Thursday to mark the 10th anniversary of the opening of DPRK-Germany diplomatic relations.

Present there were So Ho Won, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and chairman of the DPRK-Germany Friendship Association, and officials in the fields of science, education, culture and public health.

Ambassador Gerhard Thiedemann and officials of the German embassy here and German guests staying in the DPRK were on hand.

Speakers at the event referred to the exchange and cooperation in culture boosted between the two countries since the establishment of their diplomatic ties. They expressed belief that the bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation would further develop in the field of culture.
