Pyongyang, October 28 (KCNA) -- There is the Monument to Loyalty in Sonjuk-dong, Kaesong City, DPRK. Kings Yongjo and Kojong of Ri Dynasty (1392-1910) had the monument built in praise of loyalty of Jong Mong Ju (1337-1392), an official of Koryo kingdom. The monument has two tombstones erected in 1740 and 1872 respectively. Each tombstone consists of a bottom stone, turtle-shaped stay and body and head parts. The body part is dark marble and the rest is grey granite. The turtle-shaped stay is a sculpture made with a monolith over ten tonnes weigh. The epitaph contains a poem written by a king and explanations of why the tombstones were erected and how Jong was faithful to the country. |
