Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Seminars and film shows were held in UK and Russia from October 21 to 24 on the 66th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the 85th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

The chairman of the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy said the DIU founded by President Kim Il Sung provided the historic roots of the WPK. It was a genuine revolutionary organization of young vanguard of the new generation who broke with factionalism and flunkeyism, he noted.

The WPK is vigorously struggling for the socialist cause and the world revolution upholding the banner of independence, he said, referring to the brilliant course covered by the WPK.

The chairman of the Moscow Southwest Administrative District Committee of the Chernobyl Unification Union of Russia said General Secretary Kim Jong Il's visit to Russia was an event of great international significance. Boosting the Russia-DPRK friendship fully complies with the interests of the peoples of the two countries, he added.

He praised the Korean People's Army united close around Kim Jong Il as an invincible army with loyalty to the party and the leader and iron discipline.
