Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- A strong protest of south Korean people from all walks of life was launched in Seoul on Friday against the puppet National Assembly's ratification of the humiliating FTA with the U.S.

Delegates of 36 peasants organizations including the Federation of Peasants Associations and the Peasants' Solidarity held a rally in Youido.

Terming the FTA with the U.S. an unfair agreement which destroys agriculture and kills people on this land, they declared the will to stage a death-defying resistance to prevent the NA's ratification without fail.

It was followed by the all-people rally against the conclusion of the humiliating agreement sponsored by the All-People Measure Committee for Opposing south Korea-U.S. FTA.

Present there were more than 10,000 people of all social standings including workers, peasants and students.

At the rally speakers denounced the "Grand National Party" for trying to pass through the NA the "motion calling for the ratification of FTA" in a bid to conclude the unfair agreement at any cost.

Those lawmakers voting for the conclusion of the agreement will be surely punished at the next year's elections, they warned.

They strongly demanded the ruling party and the "government" stop the move to pass the motion and scrap the FTA at once.

At the end of the rally the participants staged demonstration, chanting slogan "No NA's ratification of the FTA!"

The protest compelled the GNP to cancel the plan to railroad the motion at the plenary session of the NA.
