Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- The Oun Revolutionary Site is situated in Oun-dong, Ryongsong District, Pyongyang. The site is associated with rare military wisdom, superb strategy, unique commanding art and noble traits of General Secretary Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il stayed in the military camp in the area from August 20 to October 4, Juche 51 (1962), helping other campers arm themselves with the Juche-based military idea and tactics of the Workers' Party of Korea. During the camping days he led a simple life as others did. The Korean people turned the chestnut ravine in Oun-dong into a revolutionary site to convey through generations the great feats he performed in the camp. Preserved there are barracks, battalion headquarters, study and conversation site, lecture room, shooting range, a house where musical instruments were made and other relics. A monument to Kim Jong Il's revolutionary activities was erected in the site. |
