Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- The Japanese chief executive at recent parade of the Japan Air "Self-Defence Force" called for coping with the "threat" from other countries. He said the military exercises of the DPRK and military expansion of China "challenge" Japan's security.

This is sheer sophism aimed to justify the moves to turn the country into a military power and reinvade Korea under the pretext of the "military threat" from outside.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday says this in a bylined commentary.

The commentary cites facts, blaming the tensions running high in Northeast Asia mainly on Japan's undisguised moves to emerge a military power.

It is an unchanged ambition of the Japanese reactionaries to become the "leader" in Asia and realize their old dream of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere". The Japanese militarists consider that they suffered defeat in the Pacific War due to the lack of military strength. It is, therefore, by no means accidental that they make earnest efforts to arm the Japan "Self-Defence Forces" (SDF) with the ultra-modern military equipment and increase their military capability, the commentary says, and goes on:

It is an important aim sought by the Japanese reactionary rulers to turn the SDF into offensive type from defensive type and let them possess the military capability suited to it.

The recent moves of the Japanese reactionaries to realize the ambition of the "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" have gone beyond the danger level under the signboard of "defence".

The dark clouds of arms race and aggression war are hanging low in the region due to the reckless moves of the Japanese reactionaries to hold military hegemony in Asia.

Japan, a defeated nation, is persisting in the moves to become a military power, oblivious of the bitter lesson in the past. This will hasten its destruction.

Should the Japanese militarists opt for reinvasion at last under the pretext of coping with the non-existent "military threat", they will not be able to escape stern punishment.
