Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- There is Ryangchon Temple in Rakchon-ri, Kowon County, South Hamgyong Province. The temple, built in 753 and rebuilt several times, preserves paintings and other valuable historic relics in their origin. The main building, Muryangsu Hall and Manse Pavilion still remain in the temple. The colorfully painted main building has a crane-shaped roof with belly-shaped eaves. Its walls are decorated with paintings portraying customs of the Korean nation at that time. Manse Pavilion, rebuilt in 1729, was also painted with dragon, tiger, flower and other patterns. The temple is one of the national heritages showing a high level of the Korean people's architecture and painting. |
