DPRK Supported by Personages of Guinea and Sweden

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Personages of friendly organizations of Guinea and Sweden made public statements on Oct. 23 and 26 as regards the answers General Secretary Kim Jong Il gave to questions put by ITAR-TASS of Russia.

Noting that the answers deeply moved him, Banou Keita, chairman of the Guinea-Korea Friendship Association, said in his statement:

The nuclear threat has not decreased, but is increasing in the Korean Peninsula day by day.

Recognizing that it was quite just for the Korean people to acquire nuclear deterrent for defending their sovereignty under such situation, we fully support the principled stand of the DPRK toward the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula and the resumption of the six-party talks.

We strongly urge the U.S. not to drive the situation into the dangerous line by intensifying pressure upon the DPRK but drop its hostile policy towards the DPRK and opt for improving the relations with it.

Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, said that the answers prove again that the DPRK sincerely hopes for normalized relations with its surrounding countries and stability of the Korean Peninsula and strives to create conditions for peaceful construction of the country. -0-
