Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- A concert for solidarity with Cuba was held here Thursday. It marks the month of international solidarity for the release of Cuban patriots and the cultural day of Cuba.

Present there on invitation were Ambassador German Hermin Ferras Alvarez and staff members of the Cuban embassy here.

So Ho Won, vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, who is also vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Solidarity with Cuba, officials concerned and working people in Pyongyang were present there.

So Ho Won and German Hermin Ferras Alvarez made speeches.

They said that the concert is an expression of firm solidarity and support for the Cuban people waging a dynamic struggle to denounce the U.S. moves to isolate and stifle Cuba and for the release of Cuban patriots.

The concert was performed by the artistes of art groups in Pyongyang including the orchestra of the Yun I Sang Music Institute. Put on the stage were string quartets "February Is Spring" and "In My Life", sopranos "Oh, My Motherland of Songun" and "Cuba Yes, Yankee No" and other numbers.
