National Program Contest and Exhibition Closed

Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- The 22nd national program contest and exhibition was closed with due ceremony at the Three-Revolution Exhibition Thursday.

During the contest and exhibition opened on October 27, there were contests among such programs as English-Korean translation programs and computer simulation practice programs.

There were also IT exchange and program service.

In the computerization exhibition by ministries and national institutions the Ministry of Agriculture took the special place and Ministries of Land and Marine Transport, Public Health, Light Industry and Electric Power Industry, the Foreign Trade Bank, the State Commission for Quality Management and the Central Statistic Bureau the first place.

In the exhibition by industrial establishments the Pyongyang Textile Mill, the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Central Information and Communication Centre, the Pyongyang Garment Factory, the Taean Friendship Glass Factory and the Nampho Glassware Branch Factory won good appraisal.

At least 200 programs presented by such units as Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Huichon University of Technology and Mathematics Institute of the State Academy of Sciences were acclaimed in the section of program exhibition.

The first place in the contest of programs for translating English into Korean was taken by Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, Wonsan University of Fisheries and the Pyongyang Information Centre and that in the contest of programs for computer simulation practice by Kim Il Sung University.

Present at the closing ceremony were Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet, Choe Hui Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Kim Yong Jin, chairman of the Education Commission, officials concerned and programmers.
