Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il inspected KPA Unit 322 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led Seventh Regiment.

He was accompanied by Kim Jong Un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, KPA Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and chief of the General Staff of the KPA, Jang Song Thaek, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and vice-chairman of the NDC, Kim Kyong Ok, first vice department director of the C.C., the WPK, and KPA Generals Kim Myong Guk, Kim Won Hong, Pak Jae Gyong and Hyon Chol Hae.

After receiving a salute, he went round combat and technical equipment to learn about the unit's training and regular combat preparedness.

He praised the commanding officers of the unit for rounding off combat preparations in their field as required by the trend of the latest military science and technology and the mode of combat action.

Only when soldiers prepare themselves well to go into action, can they wipe out enemies at a single blow no matter when they come in attack, he noted, adding that all the servicepersons of the KPA should think of combat preparations only awake or asleep, always use their brains, meditate and practice like the servicepersons of the unit.

The socialist country is always invulnerable as it is guarded by such reliable soldiers as servicepersons of the unit who are fully ready to promptly carry out the combat order issued by the party and the country any time, he said.

He met with the heroes of the DPRK who successfully performed their duties during the training. He had a photo session with them.

He visited a sub-unit of the unit.

Pleased to see persimmons trees around the barracks heavily laden with fruits, he said the trees have good tenders and appreciated the servicepersons' sincerity.

Then he named it unit of Kamnamu (persimmon trees).

Dropping in at the education room, he acquainted himself with the political and ideological education among the soldiers. He stopped for a long while before the photos of the heroes produced by the unit and added shine to their exploits. Standing before an honor bulletin board, he carefully looked at the photos of the soldiers who distinguished themselves in the military and political trainings.

Looking round the daily provision store, he was satisfied with the soldiers' rich diet.

He once again highly praised the soldiers of the unit for following the moves of the enemies for aggression with vigilance and putting spurs to the training, always keeping themselves in high combat readiness.
