Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of Iran in a press conference Tuesday commended the decision by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to grant the Palestinians a full membership as a sign of international support for the rights of Palestinians.

He called on the United States to be realistic on the Palestinian issue and not to stand against the "world opinion."

The Brazilian government congratulated Palestine on its admission as a full member of UNESCO, said a communique released by the Foreign Ministry on Monday.
