Pyongyang, November 4 (KCNA) -- A Pyongyang mass meeting took place at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium Friday to welcome officials, labor innovators, scientists and technicians from the Huichon Ryonha General Machinery Plant.

Those officials, workers, scientists and technicians of the Huichon Ryonha General Machinery Plant put the nation's machine-building industry on the up-to-date level and achieved signal success in realizing the robotization.

Present at the meeting were Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Kim Yong Chun and other senior officials, officials concerned, officials of party and power bodies, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions and working people in Pyongyang.

Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, noted in his speech that General Secretary Kim Jong Il praised the officials, labor innovators, scientists and technicians of the Huichon Ryonha General Machinery Plant for having realized the modernization and scientification of production processes at a high level. The leader invited them to Pyongyang and provided this grand mass meeting to welcome them, he added.

Those innovators set an example in every aspect including development and production of new products, economic management and improvement of production environment by fully displaying the Kanggye spirit, thus further glorifying the undying leadership feats of Kim Jong Il and strikingly proving again that science and technology guarantee a thriving nation, he said.

The speaker called upon all the people to register world-startling achievements much more and faster on all fronts of the advance for great surge with the indomitable mental power of Kim Il Sung's nation, the do-or-die spirit and the same creative spirit as was displayed by the Huichon workers under the WPK's Songun leadership.

The floor of the meeting was taken by Ryang Man Gil, chairman of the Pyongyang City People's Committee, Jang Chol, president of the State Academy of Sciences, and Jo Jae Yong, manager of the Huichon Ryonha General Machinery Plant.

They said that the stirring news from Jagang Province, which made a breakthrough in the machine-building industry, gives great courage to the Pyongyang citizens.

They said that the working spirit of the Huichon innovators serve as a model to be followed by everybody in the on-going general offensive.

The brilliant reality today is a valuable fruition of the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il who is taking the lead in the unaccustomed drive to push back the frontiers of latest science and technology, they stressed.
