New Fondue Cooking Method Developed

Pyongyang, November 7 (KCNA) -- Fondue, a cheese dish, has begun to be served at some restaurants in Pyongyang. Kim Mi Yong, a teacher at the Central Cooking School, who invented a new method of cooking the dish, told KCNA: Fondue, a traditional Swiss dish, is popular worldwide, especially in Europe. The dish necessarily needs cheese made of cow milk and white wine. Instead of those raw materials, we make the dish with goat milk and Taedonggang beer available in the country. Goat milk, dipped in Taedonggang beer and melted at 70 to 85 degrees centigrade, is mixed with garlic juice, pepper, farina and honey or sugar. Its taste, color and flavor are little different from the traditional Swiss dish. It is good for digestion and efficacious for stomach ulcer, nephritis and circulatory disease, as well as for growth of children. It is easy to prepare at restaurants or homes. |
