Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- The Mexican paper Unidad Nacional on Oct. 31 carried an article titled "Victory of socialism is inevitability of history" on the 17th anniversary of the publication of leader Kim Jong Il's work "Socialism Is a Science".

The paper said:

The popular masses have long yearned for a new social system which helps defend and realize their independence and waged a vigorous struggle for it. As a result, socialism came into being.

Socialism is a noble idea and revolutionary banner of the popular masses struggling for independence.

Referring to the anti-socialist moves of the imperialists, the paper went on:

This is evidence of the superiority of socialism over capitalism.

In April 1992 the Pyongyang Declaration "Let Us Defend and Advance the Cause of Socialism" was adopted after being signed by 70 political parties of the world desirous of socialism including communist and workers' parties.

It was a historic event that dealt a heavy blow to the imperialists who were dreaming of "total end of socialism" with the collapse of socialism in some countries as an occasion and helped advance the world socialist movement on a new orbit.

The number of political parties which signed the Pyongyang Declaration so far is more than 270.

The reality of the DPRK demonstrating its might as an invincible fortress which firmly defends the socialist cause against imperialism gives great conviction and courage to many people of the world aspiring after socialism.

The socialist cause will continue to dynamically advance toward the final victory.
